My name is Bianca Whitaker. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and certified school counselor passionately dedicated to normalizing counseling and the unique experiences that counseling supports. I completed my M.S. in Counseling from the CACREP-Accredited University of Houston-Clear Lake. My former career is education, and I'm fortunate that counseling allows me to bring my experience as an educator into the profession to tailor support to meet clients' diverse needs through counseling. I truly believe that everyone's experience and journey is unique, so I remain transparent in sharing that counseling is a process; it is a journey.
Fortunately, my journey has crossed with yours for you to be where you are in this very moment reading these words. I commend you, and I thank you. I share that counseling is not just about "feeling good" or hashtagging various isms of mental health. It is about doing the necessary ground work to reach healing and gain better self-awareness. Thank you for taking the time to look for professional support to help yourself or someone else. I look forward to supporting you or your loved one on their journey to healing and betterment.
From interning at a non-profit community center working with victims of crime, to being a school counselor developing a "magical" skillset to developmentally engage with various students in a split second, to now operating my own private practice working to support people like you on their journey, my journey has been necessary. My experiences from living in multiple countries, working in various academic settings, and counseling from various contexts blend so that I am equipped to remain culturally competent, socially inclusive, and diverse in my approaches.
